Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of The Hidden Show / DDNOS realm services (accounts, Looking Glass browser surfaces, Terminal / Client play apps, and related ops tools). By creating an account, accepting Discord rules that point here, or using the realm, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What this product is

A private fictional living world and training simulation (Isolated Realm).
Play is through the Terminal (or other Host-issued Client), not a full browser game.
Browser pages are for account, invite claim, recovery, privacy, and (for staff) admin glass.
In-world systems are Host-authoritative simulation. They are not your real employer, bank, court, or ISP.

2. Eligibility and invite-only alpha

Access is invite-only unless operators open registration for a specific tenant.
You must provide accurate account details you control and keep credentials private.
Alpha features may change, break, reset, or be withdrawn without notice.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for activity under your account.
Enable multi-factor authentication when offered for elevated roles.
Do not share passwords, recovery codes, bot tokens, or invite secrets.
Operators may suspend accounts that threaten the realm, other players, or Host integrity.

4. World AI and densizens (important)

Non-player characters (“densizens”) and related systems may exhibit AI-selected responses and AI-controlled character behavior.

The simulation selects and triggers from fixed, predefined catalogs (lines, jobs, intents, soft behaviors). It does not free-form “generate” original prose or media in real time as a general-purpose content factory for the living world loop.
Personality and social layers (for example OCEAN scores and rule engines) steer which predefined options fire — they do not invent unbounded new dialogue.
Outputs are fictional training / entertainment content inside the Isolated Realm. They are not professional advice, legal advice, or real operational runbooks for live systems.

Optional staff Discord digests or marketing copy tools, if enabled by operators, are separate from in-world densizen behavior and are still subject to ops policy and these Terms where applicable.

5. Acceptable use

No harassment, hate, illegal content, or attempts to harm other players.
No scanning, exploiting, or attacking real networks, the process Host OS, or third-party systems. Security content in-product is SIM / blue-team / ROE fiction only.
No reverse engineering for piracy, credential theft, or bypassing isolation walls.
No re-posting closed-alpha secrets, invites, or unreleased features outside authorized channels without staff permission.

6. Intellectual property

The Work — including The Hidden Show / DDNOS Realm software (Host, Core, Terminal, tools), world design, densizen systems, documentation, Looking Glass and marketing materials, and related creative content — is proprietary copyrighted material owned by the copyright owner of The Hidden Show (contact: Support@thehiddenshow.com). No open-source license is granted by default.
You may use the service under these Terms for invite-only alpha play and account management. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, scrape for model training, or publish the software, world assets, or unreleased materials without written permission.
You keep rights to original content you create that is not derived from our protected materials, subject to a limited license for us to host and display it in the realm as needed to operate the service.
Do not claim external professional certification from in-realm scorebooks or letters.
Third-party libraries keep their own licenses. Our Work does not claim ownership of those components.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy notice. Optional Google / Microsoft sign-in is described in Sign-in with Google/Microsoft.

8. Disclaimers

Service is provided “as is” during closed alpha.
World characters use AI-selected responses and AI-controlled character behavior as described in §4 — not unbounded real-time content generation.
We do not warrant uninterrupted uptime, data permanence, or fitness for mission-critical training without a separate written agreement.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from alpha use.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes for active alpha users will be reflected by the “Effective” date above and the change log below. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
